The Liga Profesionistă de Fotbal (Professional Football League) has become the latest European Professional League to sign up to GotSoccerPro.
The LPF is the Romanian Governing body that runs the Liga I, the top professional division of the Romanian football league system, and the Cupa Ligii, Romania’s secondary club football tournament.
The LPF will use GotSoccer’s state of the art GotSoccerPro software to schedule their Liga I games for the 2017-2018 season.
“This is another exciting deal for GotSoccer” said GotSoccer CEO, Gavin Owen Thomas. “We already work with three other top European professional soccer leagues and are really pleased to be adding the LPF to our European portfolio.”
The LPF has a proud European heritage with their top club, FC Steaua Bucuresti, winning both the European Cup and European Super Cup in 1986, beating Barcelona and Dynamo Kiev respectively.
The LPF has produced a plethora of talent over the years, none more so than Gheorghe Hagi, who played for Steaua Buuresti, Real Madrid, Barcelona & Galatasaray. The playmaker, who captained Romania to their best ever international performance at the 1994 USA World Cup, founded Romanian club Viitorul Constanța in 2009, and has helped steer the club as both owner and chairman of the club to the top Romanian division, Liga I.
Born out of collaboration with the Major League Soccer (MLS) to build a professional scheduling program, GotSoccerPro allows leagues to tackle the complex task of producing a professional schedule and create the best schedule possible using linear optimisation – a method to achieve the best outcome (such as maximum profit or lowest cost) in a mathematical model whose requirements are represented by linear relationships.
The state of the art GotSoccerPro software not only makes it simpler to create a schedule, it also allows leagues to add in all their constraints and rules to create more complex and better schedules to meet their needs, benefiting a league’s clubs, players and fans.
As well as generating the best schedule possible, GotSoccerPro also offers a range of innovative tools to help professional leagues, such as a fully integrated professional referee assigning system, a Schedule Comparison Tool, that allows leagues to work with their commercial partners to determine what times and dates are the best and most commercially attractive when scheduling a games, as well as a host of report tools.
It is these features that convinced the LPF and other top leagues around the world such as the Scottish Premier Football League and the Polish Ekstraklasa to use GoSoccerPro, and no doubt many other leagues will be following their lead to modernize the way their create their schedules.
