The Polish Ekstraklasa, the Scottish Premier Football League (SPFL) and the Costa Rican Liga de Fútbol de Primera Division (LPD) have all released their 2018/2019 schedules created using GotPro.
The Ekstraklasa kicks-off their 2018/2019 season on July 20th, with Meidz Legnica hosting Pogon Szcecin, followed swiftly by Costa Rica’s Liga FPD on July 22nd, with champions Deportivo Saprissa hosting Santos de Guppies. While the SPFL champions Celtic open the Scottish season at home to newly promoted Livingston.
“We had a great calendar release and we want to thank GotPro once again for satisfying all of our constraints” said Raquel Hernandez, the General Manager of UNAFUT – the organization that administers the Liga FPD.
Since GotPro began scheduling professional leagues in 2016 we have moved quickly to expand our reach beyond our U.S. base to the point where we now serve leagues in 10 nations, across five continents, while also branching out to explore new sporting opportunities, such as the Korean Volleyball League (KOVO).
The good work continued apace in the early months of 2018 as GotPro completed and delivered schedules to a prestigious pair of clients, Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol (CBF), (divisions Serie A- Serie D), and the USL, the fast-growing second division competition in the United States.
Each of these clients posed a unique set challenges for the GotPro staff, from the complicated nature of the Brasileirão schedule to the number clubs in the USL; at 33 teams the USL is the largest league that GotPro currently schedules.
Producing league schedules for the four divisions in the land of the “Beautiful Game” was further complicated by the sheer size of Brazil, raising travel concerns regarding expenses and fairness, for a start.
And while experience gained in working with Major League Soccer came in handy as GotPro tackled the two conference USL schedule, travel cost concerns were a major consideration when it came to filling out schedules for second division clubs.
But GotPro rose to meet these challenges and now boast an impressive roster of clients that include the CBF in Brazil, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 in France, Major League Soccer (MLS), the USL, the NASL (3rd division in USA), the Scottish Premier Football League (4 divisions), and the A-League and W-League in Australia, among others.
“Every year the level of GotPro’s service improves. The speed at which the system is able create suitable schedules gives us possibilities to choose between various scenarios and have the optimal solution” said Ekstraklasa head of Competitions Marcin Stefańsk.
But far from resting on our laurels GotPro is always looking to innovate, looking to lead. “Watch us,” GotPro CEO Gavin Owen-Thomas says, “because we are building great tools for the future. Watch us in a year, watch us in two years.”
